"Why do you go away?
So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving."
Terry Pratchett

Things that are different:

- the buses look funny (wrong proportions because they are missing my favourite part: the upper salon)
- I can walk barefoot around the house again without fear of deadly diseases. (which might be all in my head since I don't think the staircase or the balcony (and my brother's room) are less dirty than our kitchen in Dublin... but less sticky!)
- It is warmer
- If a train or bus is 2-5 minutes late, people start checking their watches and making annoyed comments.
- The shops don't have those lovely colourful (wooden) frames
- The kitchen feels like a kitchen and the whole place like a home, not only the messy area surrounding your (messy) room.
- books everywhere (part of the homely thing)
- when I went to bed last night I was painfully aware that at the same time (9pm Dublin time) the others were training Ninjutsu ._.
- internet that actually works
- you have to stop at red traffic lights and look in the other direction first before crossing the street
- random people talking in the street sound different (German)

to be continued (or not. probably not.)
